Earth Boiling and Quranic Prophecy
------

Many researchers predict 2024 will be more 'boiling than temperature' by 2023. Reported from Nature in the article titled Earth Boiled in 2023 — Will It Happen in Again in 2024? The global temperature in January, particularly in the oceans, looks well above the average temperature throughout the year. The

ongoing El Nino weather pattern -- in which warm water flows into the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean -- is also entering its second year, which typically increases global warming. This variety of events suggests that in 2024 we will experience more extreme weather and climate impacts than in 2023. This is inseparable from human behavior that continues to release greenhouse gases so that “heat” is trapped in the atmosphere.

“We know 2024 is going to be a heat wave,” said Samantha Burgess, deputy director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service at the European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecasts in Reading, England. It's just that, when and where it will happen, they can't predict it.

According to various weather forecasters in early January, the average surface temperature of the world in 2023 will be 1.34—1.54 degrees Celsius. These high temperatures were above the 1850—1900 average — the 'pre-industrial' period before human activity peaked. According to the Copernicus service, every day in the past year was at least 1 deracat Celsius warmer than the pre-industrial average, which was the first time it had been recorded.

The exact number of estimates does differ depending on the data set used. However, all analyses concluded that the global average annual temperature was close to or above the 1.5 degrees Celsius limit agreed by countries as the temperature figure to avoid in the 2015 Paris climate agreement.

The Met Office, the UK's national weather service based in Exeter, estimates that there is a high chance that global average surface temperatures will pass 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2024. (Met Office analysis estimates temperatures in 2023 are 1.46 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial average).

Explanation of the Quran

Predictions of a hotter Earth in this year are not directly explained in the teachings of the Qur'an. However, two verses in the Quran allude to the issue of the heated sea to describe the situation at the end of time. The two verses are in QS at-Takwir verse 6 namely Wa idzal bihaaru sujjirat and QS al-Infithar verse 3 reads Wa idzal bihaaru fujjirat.

Chairman of the Institute for Disaster Management and Climate Change (LPBINU) KH Ali Yusuf explained that the two verses provide a signal in the form of a picture of the situation at the time of the end of the day or the apocalypse in the form of a heated and overflowing sea. According to Ali, the description can be considered similar to the situation of global warming due to climate change, that is, an increasingly hot earth resulting in sea levels warming. These conditions lead to extreme weather and damage to marine ecosystems.

Warming temperatures also cause ice at the poles to melt and cause sea levels to rise so that sea water overflows. On the contrary, melting ice at the poles and high heat absorption at sea level are causing the Earth's temperature to heat up.

According to Ali, both verses can be a snapshot of the many drastic impacts of climate change due to global warming that have caused a wide range of serious consequences in various sectors of life, including environmental, social, and economic. He explained that both verses also serve as 'worship or learning for humans to control climate change because it will have or have a very bad effect on human life and all living things on earth.

Ali added that the public could take various steps to control climate change, which is causing the Earth's temperature to get hotter. First, reduce the emergence or production of greenhouse gases that are the cause of climate change, especially those from the energy, industrial, forest and land sectors, transport, agriculture and livestock, and waste and waste. These efforts and measures are called mitigation.

“This is where the awareness and active participation of all parties, especially the public, is needed to jointly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming and impact on climate change by practicing an environmentally friendly lifestyle,” Ali told the Editor-in-Chief of MOSAIC.

He explained that humans should be able to avoid or reduce the use of fossil fuels, manage waste and waste, not be wasteful, energy efficient or switch to renewable energy and some other environmentally friendly activities. In addition to mitigation, what needs to be done to control climate change is climate change adaptation by mitigating and anticipating the impacts of climate change including disasters by conducting disaster risk management through a series of activities ranging from threat identification, reducing vulnerability, increasing capacity and carrying out a series of disaster risk reduction actions so as to reduce to a minimum the potential impacts of disasters triggered or caused by climate change.

Ali added that any real action or behavior both in the scope of mitigation and adaptation can and should be done by anyone either personally or jointly in order to control the rate of climate change whose impacts have been markedly bad or very bad and have been felt in life on Earth today. “And if we are late or not, then the survival of life on earth will be even more threatened and it is very likely that phenomena as revealed in the Qur'an Surat at-Takwir verse 6 and Surat al-Infithar verse 3 will occur in the near future. Na'udzu billaah min dzaalik!” clearly he is.
